Compared to older GPS models the Garmin Nuvi 1350 GPS has so many features it’s hard to pick out the essentials!
Garmin nuvi 1350 reviews tend to focus on the technological advantages of the nuvi 1350 GPS.
But the Garmin Nuvi 1350 GP
S really wins out on its ease of use, and simple touchscreen interface.
As usual the 4.3 inch widescreen TFT display is sharp and easily readable, the Garmin Nuvi 1350 GPS comes preloaded with City Navigator (North America and Canada), and enhanced spoken navigation guide giving turn by turn directions with street and place names.
Garmin nuvi 1350 Review of the Best Points
The improvements in the Garmin Nuvi 1350 over other models are found in the improved user interface, with better graphics and the slide controls in menu navigating.
And ecoRoute is Garmin GPS’ new system to give drivers suggestions for the best routes to conserve fuel, rather than just the standard quickest A – B, although of course the Garmin Nuvi 1350 GPS also does that very well!
And the Garmin Nuvi 1350 also has a complete Public Transit function for navigation by rail and bus, etc.
With the expansion slot for a MicroSD memory card you can add any maps you should need to, plus you can download various CityXplorer maps for detailed public transport and pedestrian options.
Also worth a mention is the Lane Assist feature, displaying junctions, road signs and directions clearly and in advance, making it so easy to get in the right lane at difficult intersections and exits.
And a nice little extra is the facility to remember where you parked, and guide you back to your car on foot.

Garmin nuvi 1350 Reviews of the Not So Good Points!
There really aren’t all that many to speak.
The battery charger doesn’t give an indicator of how much to go till full while charging, which is a niggle.
Some people have found that charging in car is erratic, but then that applies to most models, and is down to temperatures more than anything.
No USB cable provided, but again that’s normal.
You do have to decide which model you want depending on the features you need.
The Garmin nuvi 1350 best price will get you the basic model.
Then with Traffic you pay around $20 more, and for lifetime maps and traffic the Garmin nuvi 1350 price goes up another $20 or so.

Here’s what one Garmin Nuvi 1350 GPS owner says -
Garmin Nuvi 1350 review by Lib.
Very pleased with the Garmin Nuvi 1350 GPS unit, for the cost.
It is very easy to start using, although the online manual details features that aren’t mentioned in the Quick Start guide that comes with.
The Garmin Nuvi 1350 picks up satellites quickly and recalculates routes instantly if you miss something.
The voice directions are better than on more pricey models and the widescreen display is clear and easy to readThe editing options are limited, some features are not as detailed as on more expensive units. But not all features are worth extra expense, or helpful in your area.
The features that I like on the Garmin Nuvi 1350 are the pedestrian and bike modes, the upcoming turns at a glance, and that you can turn the GPS off when indoors to save the battery life.A fairly sophisticated GPS, gets you where you want to be at a really nice price.
I am quite satisfied with my Garmin Nuvi 1350 GPS.

Garmin 255w Review
Garmin nüvi 255W GPS 4.3 Inch Portable Navigator – overall rating – 4.5 stars
The Garmin nuvi 255w GPS has been around quite a while now, and yet is still consistently a top-seller, but how does it stack up against the newer models?
We recently tested it in comparison to two newer GPS units in the same price range, and it still came up trumps. The Garmin nuvi 255w shares the basic features of more expensive Garmin GPS, and while the Garmin 255w is one of the lowest price models it is more than up to the job.
With the widescreen, super-bright, touchscreen anti-glare display giving a smooth, easy read combined with the spoken turn by turn street name directions, the Garmin nuvi 255w GPS makes driving even in unknown areas a pleasure.
For anyone who just wants a reliable in-car GPS unit, that gets you from A – B without fuss the Garmin nuvi 255w is ideal. It is “plug and play” simple, just does the job at great value for money.

The features of the Garmin 255w that made it such a popular model on release are all still applicable today, plus updates have improved certain other points.
* HotFix – still finds satellites faster than on a lot of the more expensive models.
* Fast 333 Mhz processor – for smooth map drawing and fast graphics rendering.
* Intuitive user interface – information at your fingertips
* Upload addresses directly to the Garmin nuvi 255w GPS from Google Maps or Mapquest.
* Text to Speech gives you spoken directions with actual street names.
* 4.3-inch Widescreen allows you to view more of the road around you.
* SD Memory Card Slot – to add more maps and travel guides, or store photos.
* Preloaded Maps – North America + Hawaii + Puerto Rico (Navteq).
* Rechargeable lithium-ion battery – up to 4 hours per charge
* Custom Vehicle Icons – personalize your navigator!
* Integrated Antenna – slim, easily pocketable design.
* Where Am I? – instantly shows you all of the emergency services nearby.
Of course the Garmin nuvi 255w GPS doesn’t have all the fancier features available in the more expensive models. If you’re gadget minded and enjoy keeping up with all the latest technology then this probably isn’t the GPS device for you.
But if you want a straightforward, easy to use in-car GPS unit at the best price then the Garmin 255w is the choice for you.

Garmin nuvi 255w Pros -
Fast and reliable satellite acquisition.
Smooth mapping updates as you drive.
Clear, easy to read touchscreen display.
Small and light enough to be truly portable.
Very user friendly, easy to use right out of the box.
Garmin nuvi 255w Cons-
Not bluetooth enabled.
No MP3 player function.
(Although some might say these are benefits!)
Need to buy some optional extras – like the receiver for traffic updating in real time if required, and a USB cable (if you don’t already have one).
Buyer George S. summed it up particularly well -
I am not particularly tech driven so I was looking for an inexpensive GPS that was easy to install, easy to use and reliable, and without a lot of extras that, for me, would have been unnecessary. This Garmin nuvi 255w fits the bill nicely.
Here’s what NYC (a recent purchaser) had to say about her Garmin nuvi 255w -
Just got back from a 2 week road trip. I can’t remember one time in 2000 miles of driving that we needed to check the mapbook. The Garmin 255w maps were amazingly accurate. The only time there was any problem at all was in an area that was undergoing a lot of new roadbuilding. But in all the little towns I’d never even heard of, the GPS was dead on. If you get this in North America, the proper maps are pre-loaded, and for the money, the Garmin nuvi 255w is an amazing piece of gear.
Using the unit is totally self explanatory. Battery life is pretty good, the windshield mount never failed. Typing addresses on the touch screen isn’t as smooth as with an iphone, but it’s acceptable. The build quality is good, it’s a solid unit, not flimsy at all.
I never want to take a car trip without it again. To read the full review – Check it out here
